Why join?
• Help fund improvements and free community events at The Rising Sun, Woodcroft.
• Monthly prize draw (private lottery) – winners contacted and results shared with members.
• Funds split: 51% cash prizes and 49% to Community Pub funds.
• Open to residents/visitors/friends aged 16+.
• Draw held at the Coffee Morning on the last Thursday of the month.
Thank you! (2025 impact)
In 2025, supporters raised just over £1,000. This helped fund specialist fire‑proof curtains, free community events (including a New Year’s Eve curry), soup & roll events, raffle prizes for local causes, and contributed towards solar panels.
What we’re raising funds for (2026)
Improving our pub garden (e.g., wall repairs) and continuing free community events for all.
Cost to join (March–February club year)
£30 per ball in 13 draws, ( there are two draws in December), you can buy more than one ball if you’d like. You need to pay by 24th March to be entered in March draw.

Join our volunteer team and help out with the running of the pub
Volunteers are critical to the success of the pub. Their assistance in everything from working front of house in the bar area, gardening, building maintenance, marketing, or being on the committee, is so valuable.
Do you have a few hours to spare? Would you enjoy the companionship of working within teams and getting to know people in the community? Do you have specific expertise or experience that could be applicable to helping run the pub (DIY, Gardening, Marketing, Admin, Accounts, Decorating, Cleaning, Events etc)?

We have now completed our 100th Rising Sun Community Pub Quiz night.
Since 2023, our weekly Tuesday quizzes and our art wall have raised a spectacular £3,459.14 for the small charities below that have local links.
